This is a little old but still works on the latest version with no signs of being patched any time soon.

Normally, in Breath of the Wild, you can only max out either your hearts (30), or your stamina (3 wheels) - there is no legit way to max out both. However, by using a glitch in the game, you can max out both.

Prerequisites
  • At least 4 soul orbs (or at least one extra heart/stamina wheel chunk) - the more you have, the faster the glitch will work.
  • Camera rune on Sheikah Slate.
  • At least one memory watched.
  • A fair amount of rupees - 1000 or more recommended but you can do it with less (have managed to do this myself with 500). You can get these easily by following DantiSerum's easy rupee guide here, or by cooking good dishes and selling them.

As soon as you have the above, this glitch will work.

Step 1
Go to any prayer altar and redeem all available soul orbs into hearts or stamina - if you've already started adding hearts, just keep adding to those. You can skip this step if you have already done this.

Step 2
Go to Hateno Village. On the outskirts of this village there is a statue that you can use to "play around with your essences", basically it lets you swap a heart out for a chunk of stamina wheel, or vice versa, for 20 rupees. Trade in as many stamina wheel chunks and hearts as you can. Once you have done this, save your game.

Step 3
There is a shrine close by called the Myahm Agana Shrine. Go to it. If you've completed this shrine before, you'll recognise it as one of the most annoying shrines in the game (easy completion guide soon). Enter the shrine.

Step 4
Walk up the ramp in the shrine to the pedestal to activate the motion controlled maze. Don't activate it yet. Make sure you have selected the camera rune. Hold down your shield button (ZL) and while holding it, press the crouch button (left stick) and the activate rune button (L).

Step 5
Now walk up to the pedestal until you see the Examine prompt. When you press A, it will take a picture, however it will also activate the pedestal. You want to delete the picture you've just taken. As soon as you delete it, pause the game and go into your inventory - you need to do this quickly. If you mess up, don't worry, you can repeat from step 4.

Step 6
Now you're in your inventory, you need to make Link hold an item - any material will do. Once you've done this, you need to unpause and pause again quickly. If you did it right, Link should have automatically stopped holding the item. Now go over to your memories, select any of them and click Watch Memory.

Step 7
If you did all the steps up til now right, the memory will not play. The game will instead enter a glitched state - you'll be able to control Link as normal, but the motion controls will also be controlling the maze. All you need to do now is go and load the save game you made before. Be careful not to reload any autosaves as the game may create one when you enter the shrine.

Step 8
You should be in front of the statue outside of Hateno Village again. You need to rebuy all of the essences you put in there before. When you're done, don't save - instead, go back to the shrine. Repeat from step 4 until you've maxed everything out.

Step 9
When you've maxed everything out, you need to sell all of your hearts/stamina vessels back to the statue. The reason for this is the game will interpret your new essences as both temporary and permanent - if you were to reload the game in this state, you'd lose all of your hard work. Once you've sold all your essences to the statue, save the game, and completely close the application on your Switch.

Step 10
Boot the game up again, and load the save you just created after selling all your glitched essences back to the statue. If you interact with the statue, you will notice that it still contains all the essences you sold it before. Rebuy them all and save the game. This will make your new essences fully permanent.

Enjoy your new heart containers/stamina vessels ✌?
