Okay so, I have no clue if anyone here has ever tried or already knew about this, but I literally just done it with Watch Dogs: Legion and it works. If this has already been found out please let me know! If this is new then I guess it's a PlayerSquared exclusive lol.

1: Make sure your game is not running.

2: From the PS5 dashboard, keep hitting X when the prompt appears that you need the PS4 disc.

3: While you are doing that, put the disc in, give it a couple of seconds and as soon as it boots, eject the disc.

If it says to reinstall the game press the O button.

Simple as that. This simply means you can technically sell your physical PS4 copy for £ and you are still playing the PS5 version. The obvious problem is you can't turn the PS5 off and have to leave the game running.

Thoughts?

just leave disc in, it only spins for a few seconds to read as a license and then stops.
And stays stopped while you play ps5 version.

Cant really leave the game running long,
Might have to install a game or system update,
Or copy a file that requires you to exit game.

Yeah I agree, that's exactly what I thought about the license, since the PS5 version is essentially the full digital version with a locked door and the disc is the key. I'm just surprised ejecting the disc at the right time still works since if you are too late it will shut the game down automatically. Might get patched but for now, it's interesting.
