In this case, it's very likely that your game has a different region number (CUSAxxxxx).

I've tried the current method with the Microsoft Authenticator and it worked for me. You must pick "Other Account (Google, Facebook)" and scan the QR code. Let's hope it won't break and lock me out like on NGU. XD
