    Damn, that sucks. Thanks for testing it and letting us know. EDIT: Try msd997's advice in the post just below. He got it to work by deleting any old Days Gone saves on both the console and cloud. It doesn't need Re-Regioning either.

    Although, if it's only the system file that corrupts when you re-region it; you could try to skip it and use your own. I don't think it's important for anything other than unlocking the text script trophy. (Cover-to-Cover Solid 2 which is by far the easiest trophy anyway.)
