On 24th April around 1am UTC through 28th April, PlayerSquared was subject to an apparent sustained layer 7 DDoS attack that majorly crippled access to the website and effectively disabled our webserver due to the amount of requests flooding into the site. As of right now, we are unaware of why this was done, or the parties responsible, however it does seem to have died down for now.
I decided to keep the webserver offline for the next few days as a precautionary measure as there was still signs of massive incoming traffic.
We are continuing to monitor our systems and mitigate the attacks as best we can however we are unsure whether the attacks will pick up again or not. We will however continue to defend against them the best we can.
We thank you all for your continued patience and understanding during this period and apologise for any and all inconvenience caused.
