Grand Theft Auto VI Coming 2025!​


After a long, long, damn long wait, and tons of leaks, it’s finally here. It’s finally official.
The most waited game ever in history.

GTA 6 will take place in Vice City (Miami, Florida) and will introduce their first-ever female protagonist, Lucia.
The game is set to release in 2025 on PS5 and Xbox Series X.

This thread is a timeline with all Grand Theft Auto 6 updates so far.

Grand Theft Auto 6 — Official Announcement on December 5 at 9 AM ET

Rockstar Games has officially announced that the GTA 6's debut trailer will drop on Tuesday, December 5 at 9 AM ET,
putting an end to the speculation of when, where, and how it will be released.

During a keynote at the TD Cowen conference on May 30, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick was asked about the lack of an announcement for the PC version. Rockstar owner Take-Two is now addressing the decision not to include a PC version in the future.

GTA 6 won't be a part of Summer Game Fest 2024.

The show's host, Geoff Keighley, recently confirmed in a Twitch livestream that he doesn't have a new GTA 6 trailer drop:
"I think it's going to be a good solid show, but you know, no we don't have a new GTA 6 trailer or something that we're gonna drop for you."

SUMMER GAME FEST streams live in 4K on YouTube this Friday at 2p PT / 5p ET / 10p BST / 11p CEST.

GTA 6 confirmed for PC as title appears in Rockstar Games Launcher files.

For those unaware, in 2018, reports emerged that stated GTA 6 currently had the codename: Project Americas.
The leak proved to be correctt, and this new change suggests that Rockstar still uses the name Americas internally when referencing GTA 6.

The folders were quickly removed once more, but not before excited fans picked up on the new additions. And while the Americas file was, unsurprisingly, empty, it does appear to confirm what we always assumed – GTA 6 is coming to PC.

Rock Star tells Rockstar to “go f*** yourself” after “extremely low” offer to use hit song in GTA 6

A founding member of British synth-pop band Heaven 17 has alleged Rockstar offered the three writers of hit song Temptation $7,500 each for its use in Grand Theft Auto 6 — a figure he has flat out rejected.

Martyn Ware, founding member of Heaven 17, tweeted to tell Rockstar to “go f*** yourself” after allegedly receiving what he called a “extremely low” offer to use 80s classic Temptation in GTA 6.

Rumor: Sony may have secured GTA 6 marketing rights

Sony has signed an exclusive marketing deal with Rockstar Games, according to YouTuber and insider MAGG. Under the deal, the parties will work together to promote the game Grand Theft Auto VI along with the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro consoles.

According to preliminary data, this partnership will not affect the output GTA VI on Xbox Series X|S, but the game's promotional materials will be primarily focused on Sony products. As a result, Microsoft consoles will be mentioned significantly less in promotional campaigns.

Additional details about the partnership were confirmed by another insider group, including RedGamingTech. According to them, Sony is actively promoting the PlayStation 5 Pro and is looking to use the game's announcement to strengthen the position of its new console.

GTA 6 fans already building new Vice City map in 3D before it’s even out​


With Rockstar Games and Take-Two staying silent on all things regarding GTA 6, Redditor ricksef has started rebuilding Vice City as a 3D entity, hinting at a huge playable area. Using Google Earth and clips from the only GTA 6 trailer, the fan has created this huge model of the city, frame-by-frame.

Rockstar opened new job position for a "Screenshot Capture Artist"​


In a unique discovery, fans have come to know that Rockstar Games now has a vacancy for a 'Screenshot Capture Artist'.
According to the job description, which could be seen in the career section on the studio's website, the Screenshot Capture Artist will be responsible for “creating stunning in-game images, showcasing breathtaking visuals.” Based on how impressive promotional screenshots were for GTA 5 leading up to its launch over 10 years ago, these are some pretty big shoes to fill.

The listing also indicates Rockstar’s urgency. The chosen candidate must adapt quickly to new titles, possibly to meet upcoming deadlines or marketing pushes. Given that this new job posting has come at this point in time, it would appear that Rockstar is preparing for a year-long marketing campaign leading up to the launch of GTA 6.

As big GTA fan since 1999, I'm forward to buy GTA VI on day one and it is one of reason that I got PS5 since PC release is unlikely until around 1-2 years after console release that is unusual for many third party games nowadays.
