I feel like there is a lot of debate going on for many years as to why one computer is better than the other. I've been a Windows user all of my life so that's really what has made me a Windows fan for sure, but I'm curious as to why some people prefer a Mac over Windows.

Personally, I feel that Windows is better because you can modify it to your hearts desire... RAM, processor, motherboard and etc. You can customize it the way you want and have it looking superbly astounding. I'm not a Mac user so I'm not sure if customization is even possible. However, because I was in a few art classes while in college I can say that Mac's are exceptionally awesome when using any program from the Adobe suite... honestly, that's really the only reason I'd ever purchase a Mac is for that but what do you think?

Opinions?

Windows for gaming. Mac for work.

Like JB said, a lot of artists, musicians use Mac.

I always see Mac PC as a preprioritory system, you have prebuilt systems, buy their parts, have to use specific software etc. Windows PC you are open to use whatever parts and software you want.

It all depends on the configuration of the computer. For some PCs, Linux is generally best for work. In general, I prefer Windows for everyday use, more familiar. Mac devices are significantly more expensive.

For most conceivable purposes, particularly gaming, Windows-based PCs are superior to Macs. For video editing, Macs are better. Also, Macs make better, and better-looking, paperweights. Macs are also better suited for people who wish to spend far more money in return for far less computer.

But seriously, they shine when it comes to video editing, and some other very specific purposes. My mother in law also really likes them, and she likes it when I mention that. Her favorites are the ones that have a bit of blue on them.

has to be windows because when you pc hardware dies you can replace with ease, if your mac dies you throw it in the bin/trash and get a new one just because an "apple genius" tells you it's dead!

not to mention they all use intel which is a big downer in my book :)

MAC is better if you have certain things in mind, but don't want to really customize your setup. PC is just overall the better platform at this time though imo. More customization, and more things support PC than MAC.

I have been using MACs for nearly 20 years. my first was a macbook pro bought in 2008. and I bought many different things Apple. I made also several custom PCs and I have a Linux workstation that I use as a private workhorse to help me for work when I need the convenience of a local machine capable of handling tensorflow, pytorch etc.

What I can say is :

Linux is definitely what allows the most customizable experience. You can do almost everything you want. also, you can set the pc so it runs the bare minimum. No annoying background processes that you can't turn off.

What I like about Macs, the design, build quality (though I see it decline over the years, I won't enter in details here, but oh man, it's going down hill, still it stays for now superior to others). I like the ecosystem, if you have other idevices. And what I like upon everything else, is APPLESCRIPT. If you like automation of tasks, it's a win to learn this langage (very simple). It's a shame that Apple is killing it slowly.

PCs are still the best for games. I think. but it will shift as more and more games are playable everywhere.
