Admin XMAS Has Christmas Lost Its Meaning Over the Years?

As a parent now I can definitely sense a change in Christmas. Back in my day, we'd be circling things in Argos catalogues so our parents knew what to buy us, but these days there's nothing like that to help us out.

Store closures and stuff have also had an effect on things like this.

The only thing I don't feel has actually changed is the family feeling. Getting to see everyone feels just as good as it did years ago, even if the faces I see these days are vastly different to the ones I saw at Christmas as a kid.

As I have gotten older, Christmas definitely feels a lot different. The meaning is still somewhat there, but with lost family members over the years, growing up and adulting, and just trying to survive the other 364 days of the year, it has slowly just started feeling like another day. Definitely feels more overhyped in the media, but maybe that is just bias.

Christmas feeling like just another day is more and more understandable the older you get. It's the same with birthdays. They lose their magic after your early twenties.
