Are Discord save bots actually safe to use?

Hey everyone,

I’ve seen a lot of Discord servers offering save editing services through bots, where you upload your save and they modify it automatically.

I was wondering, are these bots actually safe to use? Has anyone here had good or bad experiences with them?

I’m a bit concerned about things like:

  • corrupted saves
  • account risks
  • or whether the edits are reliable
Do you guys trust these bots, or is it better to stick with tools like Save Wizard?

If you have Save Wizard then you don't need to resort to anything else. But remember that SW is still demanding the same amount of payment as they did when the PS4 was the new thing.
Using the XDG Discord bot you pay little over $5 per month and you can use the bot for the saves three times per day. And it's what I've been using. Take the save editors that are available as an example. If you use a XDG bot to decrypt the save you can use the save editor and then encrypt it again to your PSN ID. Any error will be if you changed things incorrectly with the editor.
If you know how to use HxD to edit a save then using the XDG Discord bot will be safer than for example using the Garlicsaves site, that many times gives problems in the encryption part of the process.
For example, when it comes to Capcom games Garlicsaves works perfectly to decrypt the save but it will really ruin your day in the encryption part.
Is SW the best choice? Yeah. If you still have an account. Because paying nearly $60 for a site you'll only be using from time to time might as well seek alternatives. If I'm going to pay and I'm short on time (and patience) I might use the site digital2buy and pay to have my save edited. On that site you choose the game, you pay for the amount of edits you want, and you get your save edited back. Sometimes you might just want money, and you'll pay $5 to $10 to get it done.
SW to me is no longer a necessity at all. And my list of choices is:
1. XDG Discord x-save-bot (paid)
2. Garlicsaves (free)
3. Digital2buy (definitely paid)

there are plenty of servers that have all of these save bot services for free... theres no reason to pay for any of it also going to Garlic Saves is 100% free without having to use the discord bots.(Just remember to backup your saves before messing with it)

Well not every resource is for free. Yeah there are several bots online that do the decrypt and encrypt but except Garlicsaves none is free. Which makes sense to a certain point and at least they're not demanding absurdities like SW does. Don't forget that if you don't have a jailbreak game console your options are less.

theres actually the dev that made apollo made pc tools that decrypts 2nd layer/encrypts game saves that need it so anyone using the discord bots/garlicsaves pretty much have the same thing as people with a jailbroken ps4

Yeah I know. He made some decrypters/encrypters for specific games. I know I've used them. Problem is for the games that have no free decrypter/encrypter. In those cases I need to use one the many bots available. And in some games like The Sinking City, if you die it resets your resources.
Of course I never recommend SW to anyone, really because editing saves isn't even that hard. Hell, I did it with Dishonored 1 and 2, and even made starter saves available. Now that's insane. To pay almost $60 for a save editor that the person will barely get any use from.
