if youre on a 4090 and playing anything except CP2077 then you're better off keeping to a 4090 in terms of price to power. the 5090 is a step up for sure but for the price? absolutely not imo
the only exception would be if youre using it fore ML/AI applications but i would imagine that's broadly an edge case
We need to lay off the desperation to keep upgrading to new GPUs. Even the 3000 series is powerful for nearly any game out there. A few extra frame rate isnt worth the dent in your pocket.
If you want to burn money, yes!
I am still using 1080TI i bought 8 years ago and it´s working somehow. (But it screams for an upgrade though)
Buying the flagship every generation seems like a good way to unnecessarily waste money for minimal performance boost.
At these prices the card should at least be enough for 4 to 5 years.
My recommendation is to use google and just type "4090 vs 5090" and see if you are happy with the increase of performance for this price. (Don´t know your budget)
