Hey everyone! I recently started playing Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, and wow, the difficulty is real. The game is incredibly rewarding but also punishing. Anyone here have tips for newcomers, or are there any specific strategies you’d recommend for beating tough bosses?
Sekiro has a different playstyle than other Souls games, you really need to keep the pressure on and never back off from the engagement unless you have to heal, this is necessary because is better to break an enemy's posture (which is an instakill) than to deplete his HP.
Get some skills in the skill tree that help you break posture faster. Things like Mikiri Counter are a must-have, there is also one that lets you jump on enemies heads to build posture. From that, you just need to identify what type of attack they are using so you know what type of counter you need to perform. And always keep the pressuring them.
Learn the mechanics. You may be tempted to try to cheese a boss to get by it, but that strategy will end up hard blocking you from proceeding as some bosses just can't be beaten any other way than by getting good. Parrying and countering is the key to success. Keep at it. Once you get in the flow state in certain battles you really feel the games true value.
