If you're not really into JRPG and just getting started, I recommend Persona 3 Reloaded, it really caught me off guard how good it was. I wasn't really into it but I feel this is a good entry point.

Personal bias FFX. I remember getting it for my birthday as a child and being obsessed. Was really bad at strategy and brute forced my way through it. I think Dragon Quest XI was the most enjoyable game ive played recently
