If I could afford a great gaming rig, I'd say (ideally), at this stage in my life, PC, tbh (esp. cuz of the player freedom, particularly when it comes to stuff like mod support and/or console commands

). Of course, I've also been a lifelong console gamer mainly cuz that's the more-affordable (and, oftentimes, easier) option, and I was introduced to it first, long ago (and some games just don't get PC ports, though that's a lot rarer these days, esp. w/ new titles).
Plus... video game renting (to save money, especially) is barely a thing on PC, sadly (whereas it's been around for decades via console, albeit a lot less nowadays than its heyday). And the online "digital edition rental" sites (albeit usually for console stores like PSN) seem kinda sketchy, ngl (and typically operate from abroad in countries or areas where authorities don't really 'give a shit' about going after such "IP infringing" gamers), so unless you live in one of such countries, you're SOL if something bad happens, esp. to your finances or payment credentials, or whatever- not sure I'd wanna take that risk (not talking about key shops, btw, which is a whole other matter and more of a grey area, legally, at worst).
