corrupted saves

Yes. This post should be more popular. These are some game that are facing this issue when trying to transfer saves to PS5:

- Cod infinite warfare
- Black ops 6
- Hollow Knight
- The Long Dark

After a quick search of the word "Corrupted" on playersquared, i found many other people with the same issue on the following games:

- Naurto Shinobi Striker
- Killer Frequency
- Like a Dragon Gaiden : The Man Who Erased His Name
- Like a Dragon: Ishin
- South Park - The Fractured But Whole
- Final Fantasy X / X-2 HD Remaster

All these reports are AFTER March 25, which is when firmware 11.0 was released. So it should be almost guaranteed that the cause is fw 11.0.

Hopefully this is just a temporary error and isn't Sony testing new ways to prevent save transfers to PS5.

Also according to dextermoran, the fix to this issue is to transfer your save to a PS4, then upload it into the PS+ cloud, then you can go back onto your PS5 and transfer it to you console. This would mean you'd still need a PS4 and you'd also need PS+. Very unconventional and annoying.

You can actually transfer it to the PS4 and then transfer it from the PS4 to the USB. You don’t need to use PS+, just a PS4. Still not very user friendly.

I have the Problem with a Ishin Save Set..
but this was my solution:
I copied my saves to a USB Drive, Re-Region the other Save and put the data into my savefile…
I tested this with 5-6 Files and it works without Problem..

So I'm guessing it doesn't work to upload to PSN Plus from PS5 then download again? Could be bad news if it needs to be transferred from the PS4 specifically.

What I understand resigning or modding ps4 saves can't be copy to ps5 as it detects them as corrupt but copying save to ps4 then back to usb fixes saves and you can now copy saves to ps5. The only thing that's happening when copying to ps4 and back would be changing times and dates of save and files inside save (created and modified times) . I tried to recreate problem with fantasy life i I resigned save to USB and it had same problem the USB was USB 2.0 fat32 a few other saves I haven't touch on USB also showed corrupt. I have a USB 3.0 that's exfat and no saves are shown corrupt. I backup saves off USB 2.0 formatted it to exfat and copied the saves back to USB and some were not corrupt anymore. So it might be a combination of USB type and filesystem that's causing ps4 saves to show corrupt on ps5

I think this topic needs to read this a bit ;)
Cheap uses and bad file systems

I to use a usb3.1 and have had no issues with any games.. also note there are some games that will block u from.moving or seeing a save if you have yet to create one on the same slot
