For those who played Crimson Desert, what did you think of the game?

I was on the fence about it for a good few days due to the negative reviews on Steam. I finally picked it up and honestly have really enjoyed it. People are right that the story is weaker compared to other heavy hitters - but the world and gameplay is really what makes it for me.

It might not be for everyone, but the reason I love it is I can hop on and just find something totally new to do by running around the world if I'm not just doing quests. The combat feels fun to me, you can 'observe' enemies doing something and learn to use the move yourself, along with some neat gear abilities like this sword I found recently that shoots orbs at peoples as I heavy attack.

The world looks amazing and I honestly don't know how it can run so well on my PC.

The side content is great for me personally because I love MMOs and it almost feels like that / if you like going out and mining / woodcutting.

I'd say if you like games that are pretty immersive or not hand holding like KCD2 then you will probably enjoy it - but if that type of thing can be overwhelming then it may feel like too much (which is an ok thing, sometimes I like more linear games).

I don't regret buying it. It's not like it's the most amazing game I'm ever going to play, but I do think I'm getting more than my money's worth and that I'm in for a good time every time I boot it up.

Plus the devs actually listen, a lot of the complaints were the controls among other things which they have already released an update for. Feels solid to me as someone that was on the fence about it, I'd say if you are generally interested in what you have seen then you will get something out of it for sure.
