Just Cause 3 — Trophy Tips & Chaos Farming Guide

Sharing a few notes for anyone chasing the Platinum on Just Cause 3. It's a long grind but not a hard one — mostly time investment rather than skill.

Difficulty: Easy, but long. No missable trophies, nothing difficulty-gated. Expect 60-80+ hours for 100% depending on how efficiently you liberate regions.

Tips that speed things up:

  1. Liberate settlements before big military bases — smaller settlements are quick chaos/XP and unlock gear upgrades early, which makes the bigger bases much easier later.
  2. Wingsuit + grapple combo — get comfortable with this early since a huge amount of playtime is just traversal. Upgrading wingsuit boost ASAP saves hours over the full playthrough.
  3. Chaos farming spots — certain fuel tanks/propaganda statue clusters respawn and are good for quick chaos points if you're short on a specific liberation trophy.
  4. Save story missions for last — liberating regions unlocks better gear/vehicles, so doing story missions after most of the map is cleared makes some of the harder combat sections trivial.
  5. Vehicle/Stunt trophies — a few require specific stunts (e.g., wingsuit through structures, tethering vehicles together). Worth looking up specific trophy conditions before you're deep into the game so you don't miss easy opportunities.

Total playtime for Plat: Budget for a marathon — this isn't a weekend platinum.
