Quick question about re-regioning

I've just recently started re-regioning some saves (some of which I will share on this forum soon).

I have encountered some situations with multiple save files where I do not have saves with the same index as the provided save set (ex. I own data001.bin, data002.bin, data003.bin from my saves, while the save set I downloaded also contains data004.bin, data005.bin, data006.bin).

What is the easiest way to "fill the gap" and create the rest of the data set? Can they be created from the PC by copy-pasting the ones I already have (ex. copy-paste data001.bin and rename it data004.bin)? Because if so, it did not work for me when I tried.

Am I missing some step, or should I really just try to create more save slots from my own games to finish re-regioning?

Thanks!!

I would go with the latest option, seems the more easier and logical to me, but I am not a pro reregion saves xD

For the record, I ended up doing the latter (creating a save directly in-game) because copy-pasting files on PC ended up with corrupted data.

One thing to note though, is that when you re-region, the save will "look" like the save before you changed the data when you are in-game and when you load up the save, it will contain the new data.

For example, I re-regioned a save for Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep, the character was Level 1 in the original save but 99 in the re-regioned save. The game "thought" the character was still level 1 in the load menu, but when I loaded up the save, it was indeed Level 99. Overwriting the save from the game after that showed Level 99 correctly, it updated the "header" data on the save file.
