Well I never thought I would ever see myself doing this, but I came to a decision. I looked online for at least 30 minutes trying to find a good starter save for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 with a big chunk of progress before the first mission of Chapter 2, all I found were mediocre 8% or 10% saves at the beginning and hardly anything else except max cash and a few guns. Nobody really took the time and effort to make a near perfect starter save with just about all possible side stuff completed including the unforgiving Herbalist 9 challenge.
Content: I have a jailbroken PS4 Pro which did the magic to help make this save the best that it can be, so 36% is the absolute highest I was able to reach before coming to a conclusion I can't do anymore. I spent two sleepless nights playing with a mod menu on the game and as you can see, I managed to make it to New Austin which we all know is completely forbidden and instant death for Arthur. So basically just about every challenge for the game is complete except for Master Hunter, Survivalist, Gambler and Bandit. The last few challenges were impossible to do because of the limited features of the mod menu and I also didn't want to risk breaking game scripts.
I love RDR2 so much that I just figured why not make the experience of the game so much easier to play to 100%. I had this special feature on the mod menu where I could super-run and jump across the map like Spider-Man so I got all dinosaur bones, dreamcatchers, and some other collectibles including those annoying hidden treasure chests from the Explorer challenge. I even got 9 out of 10 rock carvings and the last one is marked as point of interest on the map right near the stranger mission that triggers its ability to be inspected.
Another big important aspect of this save is that I used the menu to give Arthur the Saint Denis cop hat which he wears as part of his uniform during a mission late in the game, I couldn't keep the whole uniform though unfortunately. I have studied over 100 animals including horses and I added 28 fish through a save editor before I ever used the mod menu.
Cash: Money is an important part of the game but not as much as in other Rockstar games, mainly GTA 5, because it's the 1800's. But I was able to add over $27 million in cash to Arthur's pockets because it looks cool having all that money like that and you are guaranteed to never run out and buy max of everything as many times as you want. The money adds more rarity to the save because it's damn near impossible to get that amount even through a save editor.
Guns: Arthur has pretty much every single weapon except a few like the M1899 which is my favorite sidearm in the whole game. I wasn't able to add the M1899 because the save editor wouldn't load the character page. You'll start with two Mausers and a few other guns that are golden but I didn't spruce them up too much since you might want a different design. When I hacked the game I used version 1.00 with my own disc of the base game so there was no DLC content as a result of it.
I never cut Arthur's hair, I just let it grow so he has a big ass beard. You can decide what hair style you want for him at the very beginning.
Disclaimer: Because of the emotional weight this game has, including the amount of hours and dedication it would take to complete it a hundred percent I almost didn't make the save, but I just decided after a while and I had to because I love the old Rockstar. I MUST emphasize and worn you that I couldn't catch any legendary fish or land animals even with my mod menu, it was impossible. So my big disclaimer is that you will be needing to catch every legendary fish including the 15 on the challenge list.
I think it is very important that you are a veteran player and that you've been playing the game since 2018 because otherwise it will be a nightmare catching those fish, but believe me when I tell you it's well worth the try because you already have a 36% head start with most of the tedious collectibles and stuff done already.
