What’s better digital or physical games

There's no better feeling for a gamer/collector than to go through his library and choosing which game to fire up.

But on the other side, the convenience of having all of your media digitally to which you can choose to download/stream whatever you want is good for the lazy person.

But, what if some media is delisted? The license expired? The internet is down for days, weeks? Physical wins.

But, what if you had to move? Your disc is scratched? God forbid you've been robbed? Digital wins.

So, yeah 😅. There are positives and negatives to both physical media and digital media.

For me it really depends. If it's a game I'm super hyped about, I'll buy both – digital for day-one play, physical for the shelf.

Otherwise I just go physical, so I can swap with friends or sell it later. Digital I only grab during PS Store sales, which honestly isn't often.

And once Sony drops physical discs after 2028, I'll probably buy way fewer PS games.

Physical media will always be the best format.

The store won't shut down and cause you to lose access
You can lend items to friends
Sell them and recoup some of the money.
You don't have to wait for them to deign to put items on sale so you can buy them at a reduced price.
