What's your favorite Resident Evil game

I started playing Resident Evil 2 two weeks ago. I started with Resident Evil 2 but i would like to know what is the most popular/most liked re game to get me excited.

re4 is still the one to beat, its atmosphere and pacing are hard to top even with all the newer releases

story of resident evil 7 and 8 are amazing imo, they revived the series and brought it to heights that it just simply was never at regardless of what peoples nostalgia may have to say.
